The Story Behind Our Iconic 1960’s Calendar Charms
In 1960, my grandmother gifted my mother a custom calendar charm for her 7th birthday. I grew up mesmerized by this sweet charm, connecting me back to a time when my mother was as small as me.
When my son was born, I re-imagined this charm for today, crafting one for myself with his birthdate.
It is such an honor to craft these bespoke gold pendants for each of you, marking moments in time forever. With each calendar ordered we create a custom watercolor rendering with your exact dates and engraving.
Traveler's Token Necklaces
Serving as a universal symbol of peace, the ever fruitful Olive Tree can reach the age of 2,000 years old, and can regrow, even after being burned. Though its branches are light enough to be carried by a dove, they are strong enough to symbolize unity and forgiveness across cultures and peoples.
To appreciate the symbolism of the Stars, we imagine what the night sky looked like to ancient cultures: an expanse of guidance and wonder. We look upon the same Stars from all points on earth -- the same Stars that our ancestors before us gazed up at, sending their dreams into the sky.
We call upon the Camel for strength, endurance and guidance on our travels, whether they be short trips, epic pilgrimages, or along the journey of life itself. Whether the path be physical or spiritual, the Camel is an expert guide.
Birds possess a spiritual magic, flying between the earth and the stars. With their ability to see the world from such great heights, birds embody our desire to rise above the minutia of the day to day. A Peacock’s colorful feathers symbolize all of the beauty there is to see, while the golden “eye” shapes, “eyes of the stars”, represent knowledge.
The Protea is one of the oldest flowers on earth, existing for over 300 million years. The flowers have renewed themselves into over a thousand varieties of shapes and colors, earning them a mythical connection to transformation.
The Palm Tree’s graceful leaves let themselves be easily moved by the wind, like those who are spiritually and creatively connected.
Since ancient times the Ibex has been revered for navigating the roughest and narrowest terrain with a steady focus and unwavering persistence. It was once said that if two Ibex met, horn to horn at a standstill on the narrowest of paths, that one Ibex would climb over the other to get across, as no seemingly impossible hurdle could tip this grounded creature off its course.
Sprouting tropical leaves and sweet fruits from the depths of the ancient desert, the Date Palm embodies the abundant shelter and nourishment the earth can provide if we listen. With its grace and elegance, the Date Palm has been minted on timeless coins across cultures as a symbol of eternal life.
Grown in the Mediterranean for thousands of years, the Pomegranate holds within its skin rich color, healing nutrients and beautiful jewel-like seeds, exuding beauty and majesty. Some cultures say that each seed within a Pomegranate represents a different virtue to live by.
